Reflective Journal 3

Hey, for the very first time I'm doing my weekly reflection second, since Yen Wee decided to do it as soon as he got online. GRACE was fun. (Joy and laughter filled the air of the Math Homeroom for 35 minutes :D)

Well, the weekly GRACE meeting started out normally, except for the fact that all of us had to wait for Mr. Wong and his students to get out during the Upper Secondary recess. Then Miss Lim went to confirm what both groups were going to do for their topic. Suddenly, a "light bulb" hatched from Perfectionist Yen Wee. He told me that if both the Perfectionists and Unstoppable Intelligence were going to do the same topic, why not just merge into a whole big group of 8? Surely 8 heads would do better than 4, right?

Miss Lim said she would go ask Mr Peh if the mergence could be done. Hoping this would be approved, the Perfectionists promise to do a great job, with our best effort, and so will the Unstoppable Intelligence, according to Aaron. It was surprising when Miss Lim asked if there were any objections to the decision, no one raised their hands. Maybe it was because the Unstoppable Intelligence "wanted" Zhi Yu to be in their group :P. However, there is always a bad side to things, if it all doesn't work out, the Perfectionists will be ready for it, doing our best with 4 or with 8. The unhappiness of other 4-member groups might lead to the failure of the mergence...

Moving back to the main point... (please scroll for 1 second)

[!] Warning, this reflection has potential to break the GRACE reflections record of number of words, or maybe just the 2 Benedict's GRACE one. [!]

I'm sure that with every topic, some questions will surely have to be asked, it's just a matter of time so why not sooner? We made some guiding questions for our topic, which I have already uploaded onto Box.net for downloading. However, if you are not our Facilitator (Miss Lim), Mr Peh or people the group gave permission to, downloading the material is wrong! The GRACE Way will be your guide for actions made to this blog.

We should really learn form Thomas Edison, trying even harder when we have failed before. Like Mr. Kwok says,"You must fail in order to succeed." Failure is of course undesirable, but failure allows one to learn from one's mistakes, and by doing so improve on them. Well, covering up on the wrongs would be less embarrassing, but telling the truth never hurt anybody right?

I've been thinking about the questions and the answers to them, otherwise known as the lesson task for GRACE Lesson 4. I went to research on some factors that will directly affect the project. I remember reading in the news an article of a teenager earning $10,000 a month, selling things he bought from street stalls. Its both shocking and incredible at the same time. Imagine the Perfectionists(or the unconfirmed Unstoppable Perfectionistic Intelligence) using that kind of money to help the SPCA. It really warms my heart at the thought of it.

So, I went sourcing for the information and references of setting up a blog shop.
There is this link of the basic requirements of a blog shop:
CLICK ME!

'Place banner ads and exchange links with other websites to earn some commission'
Free advertisements? It looks like the Perfectionists could have to sign for an announcement during morning assembly in school one day, hopefully not in a week that there are examinations.

Thinking back, I made most of the guiding questions(some of which I saved for this reflection ^_^), so no one would have the chance to steal them, although I did give some to Aaron of the Unstoppable Intelligence.

-Will a sale of T-shirts be enough for the SPCA?
-Would the public approve of them being worn out on the streets?
-Which group of people will the T-shirts be appealing to?
-By what means would we go attract customers to buy the T-shirts?
-Do our designs have to be related to what the SPCA does or can they be in relation to what is "in" and "hot" currently
-How high will the profits per T-shirt be?
-How much capital must each Perfectionist fork out?
-Will setting up a stall be necessary? If that happens, will we need to have samples of the products and what will happen to the remaining ones? WHERE WILL THE STALL BE LOCATED?

According to Yen Wee, if the two groups were really going to merge, that would allow us more capital which can be used for other products. Hence, the Havaianas "inspired" flip-flops suggestion by Miss Lim could be used too.

The following has been quoted by Yen Wee, adapted to my post:
"
I've been a blogger since years ago, made many friends online, and I'm not going to deny the fact that I have many connections :DD

Here's a cool blog shop made by my friend ( an online friend in fact ) :
http://booksjvl.blogspot.com/
( Not Trying to free advertise for him! It's the FAQ part that is what I want to focus on! )

Printing out pamphlet and of course, giving out pamphlet, with the location of our stall ( If we're going to have one) and our blog shop's link would be a great way of advertising too!

A more professional one :
http://fleshimp.com/
http://fleshimp.bigcartel.com/
( The Nicholas guy [ The one posting ] is my cousin :DD )
( p.s. the clothes there are X.X so AHEM AHEM you get what I mean haha, this is just for reference! )
"

This definitely relates to my reflection as a resource, but I have my own question for Yen Wee. If he has been a blogger for many years, wouldn't that mean that he's broken the TOCs of Blogger for as many years he has been on Blogger until 2009?

I guess that went a out of the reflection topic. So moving on with the post.

Actually, 35 minutes is not sufficient  to do a GRACE Lesson. It always seems to be when things just started to go smoothly and all of us are completing our lesson tasks, the bell rings. Time really flies when you are having fun/FUN!  If things really don't work out, we could use Plan B, the flip-flops idea or Plan C, the threatening the teachers idea.

As all of you might have noticed, our blog coder, Yen Wee has fine-tuned the blog a little by adjusting the positions and names of the navigation bar. He will be editing it a little more until it reaches true perfection.

In a nutshell, everything turned out fine during this week's GRACE lesson. So far so great with everything going in our way, and that's how the Perfectionists roll.

I guess I will try and have at least 2 T-shirt designs in by next Monday, Day 1. Who knows, the blog shop might even be ready by Sunday! I have one last task this reflection, to let out a not so secret secret about the Perfectionists - we each post our own reflections and edit it once the others have posted theirs, so it will all be perfect. I am really looking forward to the Unstoppable Intelligent Perfectionists! (:

Further,
              Faster,
                          V-Formation!
