HEY THERE! It's that time of week again, where the Perfectionists make their weekly reflections! WARNING!! This reflection will tend to be extremely wordy, somewhat irrelevant form the topic and also more of a description.
The truth behind the long reflections is because the Perfectionist with the most number of words in their reflections will be award one bone pixel. So we strive to tell you what we feel to make sure we get 1 more pixel on our computers. (:
Okay, enough of the jokes and I'm sure all of us want the best reflection counts so go for it! :P Better to just get on with life now than start regretting not managing the time for reflecting... Right? Moving back onto the road of the main topic.
Todays's reflection was taken from GRACE Chapter 4, Verses G to N (GRACE 04:G-N) (I guess this is just what happens when you listne to Morning Assembly too much.
The GRACE Lesson started off with our supervising teacher, Miss Florence Lim, telling us about the pros and cons of the merger between the Unstoppable Intelligences. I sure hope the merger was a right decision made, though having more people in the group would greatly increase its productivity.
Adrian Yap, our group's newly appointed Assistant Leader, didn't show up today as he was absent (physically and not mentally) from school. However, the lesson was still very fruitful, with the help of the 7 remaining "brains".
Yes, you read it right! The Perfectionists and the Unstoppable Intelligences have joined forces to form the all-new Perfectionists :D We now have twice the manpower, twice the resources and of course, twice the fun! :P GRACE has been a great path in our journeys in Maris Stella High School, helping us in the process of self-discovery. Well, with a group of 8 people, it is expected of us to do a far better job than the rest of the other GRACE groups.
Moving on, we discussed on our group project objective and the guides to guide us along the way. Our Project title, Fundraising for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is totally in tune with our focus on selling T-shirts to raise awareness of preventing cruelty to animals and encouraging people to adopt the animals from the SPCA, since after all, people living in the cities these days lead such hectic lives that there practically have no time to relax!
By adopting an animal, they can have the pleasure of keeping an organism alive all because its their fault! We decided to each design 2 T-shirt designs by the end of 2 weeks, which is GRACE Lesson 6, which would give us ample time to come up with and improve on the designs. However, we have yet to discuss about the distribution of tasks for marketing strategies and the sourcing of T-shirt vendors. These tasks will be assigned soon after we discuss it.
As for the cost and time factors, we the Perfectionists prefer to start the sale of T-shirts during Term 2 (either in the middle of the school term of after the examinations then) as it would be too much of a rush to produce designs, get orders and print the T-shirts. Doing the sale in Term 2 would free us much valuable time which can be used for the further revision of designs and finding the vendor.
We will be meeting an SPCA representative sown at the SPCA during the March Holidays to get to know what the SPCA really does and also let her view our T-shirt designs which will be stamped "suitable" or "unsuitable". Then we might get the T-shirt sizes of some school staff and making them sample T-shirts for them to model. The blog shop will pose a an aid as we can put up the T-shirt designs and the modeled pictures on it, giving the customers a bigger picture of how the T-shirt looks like. The blog shop will be managed mainly by Anthony but will be jointly monitored by all of us.
We may be getting her help in giving a talk during hall assembly on one of the Mondays in Term 2. We will be making use of the morning assembly time to announce the setting up of the booth to all the students. We will then set up a booth at the canteen for the students to order T-shirts from Tuesday onwards. We will be available during the Lower Secondary recess but what about the Upper Secondary recess? Will 2 of the Perfectionists be mending the booth during the Upper Secondary recess? That will be discussed further when we reach that point in time :P
The SPCA representative might also bring down 1 or 2 puppies during the sale to let the students interact with the wildlife. This will surely attract attention to out booth. I am really looking forward to this!
After the lesson, which I always feel is only 10 measly minutes, since our English teacher cum Co-form teacher Ms Cindy Liong was absent and had not left us with any homework, Our group decided to continue on our GRACE project, as so had other groups in my class. So it was like instantly that the blog shop appeared out of the blue, but it was in fact MAGIC. Yes, I have magical abilities that allow me to manipulate things :D already did the blog shop beforehand, approximately 5 days before the GRACE Lesson, which allowed me time to create the accounts for the shop. The password, which will not be revealed, has been sent to all the Perfectionists via email, but there was one exception. I couldn't send the email to Wei Hao! There had been an error in the delivery system which caused this, so Wei Hao you will be approached by me soon, to inform you of the password. The blog skin for the blog shop also mysteriously changed 4 times in 20 minutes... (Who knows?) So then we decided like this,"Hey! Let's inform the GRACE Committee of our changed group status so that the blogroll would also be updated!" This was followed by a sequence of typing and sending an email to the GRACE Committee.
Aaron went to copy and paste the past Unstoppable Intelligences reflections over to the Perfectionists one, then made a note on his old group blog, informing others of the change. People kept asking for the next few days, questions which are so predictable there is no need to even type them out!
Finally, before I leave the blog to the other reflectors, Miss Lim, you haven't sent me the SPCA's logo and the school crest yet, some of us may need it for the completion of the designs so anytime :) So speaking about the cruelty to animals, here is a music video that I saw during Religious and Moral Education that speaks of the cruelt acts humans do to other living things:
