So this during the meeting this week, we did not do much, but it was just because we UPs followed the instructions from the GRACE Info Site. We were a little late for GRACE as we were held up by our English Literature teacher, Ms Cindy Liong. We were trying to rush through one group's Lit. presentation, which just so happened to be one of our Assistant Leaders, Yen Wee's group... They were doing it on the poem "The Wind". Halfway through, we were all asked to leave for GRACE in case the teachers made "waiting". When we arrived at the Math Homeroom, we saw Mr Denis Koh was scolding (or whatever it was he did) a boy. Then, Miss Lim let us into the classroom.
We started by presenting our designs one by one the Miss Lim, while some members whose names shall no be mentioned didn't. So, while viewing the designs, we came across some pretty "different" designs, some designed on the computer and some on paper. So this is maybe because there was no advice given before the submission, maybe we should be given about 1 week's time (after the CTs) to improve on the designs in twos? For me, I feel that what our group has done for the designs is not really desirable and Miss Lim's "inspired" designs are more adequate. We ennded up with a vote! Below are the voting results:
- Gavin - D1(5) / D2(1)
- Anthony - 2
- Zhiyu - 1
- Aaron - 2
- Yen Wee - D1(8) / D2(0)
- Adrian - (KIV)
- Ms Lim - Black D1(1) /Blue D2(5) / Savior D3(0) / UK Flag D4(6) / Wordy D5(7)
We also discussed whether the T-shirts would be bought if the designs we chose them for printing. Copyright was also an issue, with Aaron getting his royalty-free dog picture, as he claimed. We should trace to the source of the picture and see if it really is public domain, but if it is copyrighted, we will try contacting the owner to give us permission to use it. There was this UK flag dog mosaic design by Miss Lim - Aaron asked her how she made the dog mosaic, so she told us that we could download photo-mosaic software from the internet to create mosaics like that.
In a nutshell. I found this meeting super amazing fun, we had lots of laughter and fun. Most of us were focused while some just drifted off into their own conversations and such. Maybe they just need some reminder of what our purpose in attending GRACE meetings is for - learning. I wish all Unstoppable Perfectionists good luck in their Common Tests!
So with this ends my reflection, for now. I will be sure to add in more informtion when I am more free tomorrow :D Revision, here I come! :P
