Woah, time's really been "flying past" us! Weeks ago we were all clueless about GRACE, and now, although we may know what we need to do, we may not even make it for the deadline! I'll get into the details later on in this post but really, it's all just moving on so quickly.
Enough of the small talk, let's get down to business. This week, we proceeded down to the Math Homeroom where Miss Lim was, since the lass got a "scolding" from Miss Liong about noise when we were discussing our Literature projects. So, I was the first to reach there, followed by the rest as they sauntered together. We got to our seats and greeted Miss Lim after that. (The GRACE ritual).
Then, Miss Lim sked if we have received our MSHS Google Apps account yet, which we did not so she showed us the "blogshop" (if you can even call it that anymore) that had the basic layout done. All there was to do was just to insert the content. We were ripped (split) into 3 general groups which focused on a specific category of work --- Presentation Group (Me, Adrian, Wei Hao), Blogshop Group (Anthony & Yen Wee) & T-shirt Group (Aaron, Zhiyu). [I wanted to do the worksheet initially, but I figured that I could do it later since we were all split up.] So, Miss Lim gave us the Google Apps account to get started with. I don't really know what we're supposed to do for the presentation since the Script and Presentation don't add up, so I'm just going to type out a copy of the presentation and add in the script parts. I really need to have some Unstoppable Perfectionists (UPs) to stay back with me to do it as this is very confusing. Aaron's group did not really do anything since Ryan had not send me the email regarding the quotes of the T-shirts yet. On the other hand, Anthony's was super-mega busy as they had to think of the content to put into the blogshop. That was pretty much it as we don't really have much time for GRACE.
GRACE is the essence of fun in school, it's the best lesson each week, and I've been promoting that to my classmates ever since GRACE Lesson 2, but they seem to all disagree by saying that it's the worst, "are you sure", "NOoooo!", etc. It's probably just because they were going in the wrong direction since the beginning. They were so focused on the environmental topics that were advised that they didn't even give thought to trying out other topics. For us, Miss Lim gave us some suggestions during GRACE Lesson 1 to think about, so it was pretty clear where our path would lead to. Most of the other groups are doing things to do with the environment such as card games, improving current inventions, introducing recycling bins to the canteen, etc. While that may be the safe thing to choose (our project won't work out unless we meet the datelines), but hey, who's choice is it? The pilot of GRACE may have had only the environmental topic, but for goodness sake, it's Year 2, a year of changes, beginnings and of course endings. Enough of the crap talk now will we? 35 minutes is never enough to get things done......
After GRACE , Aaron asked if he could be the "Clicker", which we will call Assistant which sounds a whole lot better. I replied him the same way I did Zhi Yu, "You will need to undergo "clicking" training." That is just for synchronization with us during the presentation since we all want it to be PERFECT, right?
The rest of the week went on about emails to/from Miss Lim, Aaron & Ryan. Ryan finally replied on Wednesday morning and I forwarded it to Miss Lim & Aaron during recess. Aaron was shocked when he saw the figures (I mean he literally gave a gasp). He wanted to go to Kratos on Tuesday but since many people could not make it fue to some activities, he cancelled it and started his plan for Thursday's trip. He emailed Miss Lim & I about the trip but apparently, he didn't forward Miss Lim's email to me and I couldn't make the proper conversation. At first, it was still alright --- Ryan said he could meet us from 2 onwards on Thursday. So time didn't really matter yet. However, on Thursday during recess, I confirmed with him that we would be coming down at 4.45 pm, but he replied minutes later that he had something on at 4. I don't know if there was some form of miscommunication or not, but it doesn't really matter anymore since we already know what we want to do for the rest of the GRACE-ful journey (well, at least for the T-shirts printing).
On Thursday all the UPs, except Adrian, Yen Wee & Benedict, planned to meet at the MRL then proceed to the fornt porch but when I realised that Ryan had something on at 4, I quickly rushed Miss Lim's class and told her. She asked us to go first if we wanted. So I went to round up the UPs I could find and proceeded to Bishan to meet Aaron, who had gone home. WE didn't have time to wait for Benedict so we passed. We then took bus service 88 to Kratos and spent 15 minutes to discuss about the T-shirts pricing. Ryan was in a hurry so we discussed with him outside. Ryan tried explaining the rationale behind the pricings to us and asked us to go back and discuss about how much profit we want to make, how much would we want to price the t-shirts and how much profit per design. So we went back to school, even though we had Biology & Math Tests the next day. We coincidentally met Yen Wee when going up the escalator so we got him to go back with us.
As usual, Aaron and I went to look for Miss Lim, I went to the staff room to get the usual reply so I went back to the porch to know that Miss Lim already went there :) So probably next time I won't go look for her. :D So she came down and said 我不用那么多人!We then told her that we had already gone to Kratos and came back. So we sat down to discuss about GRACE. I got Zhi Yu to buy 100Plus for me so he was gone for the first few minutes. Yen Wee also bought 100Plus for someone else whose name I don't can't seem to remember. So Miss Lim asked about what happened at Kratos so we told her the events that took place. then we were split back into our 3 groups again. Wei Hao & I started on the 1st few slides when we ran out of battery so we borrowed Anthony's, then Yen Wee's MacBook to use. I asked Yen Wee to help "copy & paste" the SPCA's slides to the new slides but he dragged the slides right in to all it's original formatting... It totally doesn't fit into the slides so I'll have to do the again. =.=
We surveyed several people (mainly Mr. Koh, one Sec 4 & THE PRINCIPAL). The 2 people named first weren't really serious but Mr Lim was more realistic. (And for some reason, Miss Lim kept saying this, "Giordano doesn't even sell T-shirts at $X) Then Anthony & Yen Wee went to get 100Plus for those who wanted. When they returned, Yen Wee was complaining about his plain water drink. So then I started typing out an email on Anthony's MacBook until we all decided to leave at 6.35 p.m. It was just unlucky that I touched Miss Lim's bitten paper cup. (Eww!)
