Somehow, the reflections lately have either been later than usual, late, or just not posted. For instance, Anthony has forgotten to post his weekly reflections for the past few weeks, so he has a lot to think about and reflect on... Also, some people do not label their reflections after posting, which really slows down the process of verifying that they actually did their reflections. Of course, things have to go in chronological order, right? That is why I am not going to talk (reflect) on the excursion first but the meeting.
Miss Lim was not in school on the day of our Group Research And collaborative Expeditions (GRACE) meeting as she had to attend a course, so we decided to go to the Study Area 2 to meet. However, our classmate told us that a teacher told him to tell us that we were "supposed" to meet at the Humanities Homeroom for the relieve period. A few of us waited there for around 3 - 5 minutes, but no teacher came to open the door. Then, our classmate from another group came to tell us that Miss Toh will be relieving us for this week and it just so coincidentally happened that their meeting area was at the Study Area 2. Was it pure coincidence or what?
So we ran to Study Area 2 and got seated while Miss Toh asked us if we knew what we had to do, which we obviously did. This is because Miss Lim already told us what we were to do after the excursion to the SPCA the week before. Most of us sat down without drawing any attention, but Yen Wee, immediately drew some from Miss Toh when he almost sat on a wet spot. Well, we can't blame here right? She cares a lot for her cadets.
So we started collating the survey results, which are very difficult to collate with one person as it can be really confusing (trust me, I tried it the night before and messed the Sec. 1s with Teachers & the Sec. 2s with Sec. 3s). All of us, except Aaron, Anthony and Yen Wee, started collating the survey results. Aaron was sending emails to some printing companies and working on the worksheet that I have been completing for the past few weeks since our merger (which I must say was our greatest step ever made). After that, he sent it to me to "finish", but I didn't really see a reason to as it was already finished.
Anthony and Yen Wee focused on working the "blog shop", if you can even call it that anymore. Yen Wee seemed to observe Anthony's every move(clicks & types) since he did not really have to do much, so after like 5 minutes, he asked it=f there was anything for him to do. I told him that he could either help Aaron with the worksheet or collate survey results. He chose to collate survey results.
Now, we're moving on to the visit to the printing companies, which I personally call GRACE EXCURSION 2! OR UPs EXCURSION 2! I came up with those names so that everyone could use them! Aren't I fantastic? So moving on, on Thursday we went visit the printing companies. We were supposed to meet at the front porch at 2.30 p.m., but were released at 1.20 p.m. so we had lots of time to spare. After eating, playing & doing some homework, most of the UPs gathered at Study Area 2 to finish collating the survey results (thanks to Wei Hao who handed in his survey forms late). Aaron gave some nasty comments about the Sec. 4 surveys as some of them were simply ridiculous! One actually wrote "Transparent" as his favorite color for T-shirts. At the last few questions, Anthony took over Aaron, who claimed he was tired of counting so many numbers at one go. We ended when Wei Hao arrived and had Question 7 left. Soon after, Zhi Yu came too, after his soccer game. We just did a bunch of random things while waiting for Miss Lim.
At 2.25 p.m., Aaron and I went to the staff room to get Miss Lim down but a teacher said that she was not in. We ran to 2I, H, G & F to check if she was there, but to no avail. We then ran to the front porch to see if Miss Lim had reached the front porch, but she wasn't there either. We then ran again to the staff room to ask if she was in and a teacher said that she had just left and we could catch her if we ran to the front porch. It was not necessary as we did were supposed to meet her there. It's always strange that when Aaron & I tried to find Miss Lim, she was not there the first time and 3 minutes later she left. How is that possible? Maybe Miss Lim can teleport :D So we ran back to the front porch since we did not want to be "late", considering Miss Lim was late by 5 minutes.
Just as we were about to leave, it started drizzling and Miss Lim told us to use umbrellas as she did not want any of us to catch a cold. We walked and walked and walked ourselves to the Primary School Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Gate where we waited 5 minutes for cabs. After that, we decided to take the MRT to Bishan and change lines to Toa Payoh where the printing companies are. At Toa Payoh, we hailed 2 cabs to bring us to the Ministry of Print (MOP). When we reached there no one was in so we went to the coffee shop downstairs for drinks as well as for a visit to the restroom. Thanks to Aaron's spam-calling, the MOP staff answered 5-10 minutes after we came down. apparently, they had gone for lunch even though it was like 3.30 p.m. So we decided to go up to discuss, yada, yada, yada... By the end of the discussion, we were not very satisfied with them as their sizes had some differences for the same size and we would not be able to print some designs as it would either look bad or be too expensive to print.
We then decided to try our luck with Kratos, which we visited way after the specified time. We changed buses and "magically" arrived at the gate near Kratos. We almost couldn't find it as it was all the way on the other side of the building. When we reached their entrance, we saw Ryan, who asked about us. We told him that we were supposed to meet Matthew before 4 but couldn't make it and asked if we could talk to him about yada yada yada... In the end, we were much more satisfied then we were with MOP as they had some partial sponsorship thing and we were not given a minimum quantity. I'm not sure about their quotes at the moment, but it's more likely that the highest T-shirt price would be around $16. I will be hearing from Ryan by Monday and hope he haas good news. So after that,we all took a separated as we each took our own route home. Wei Hao was the first to leave us, followed by Zhi yu & Aaron. Then Anthony mentioned something about me suggesting that we all visited "Shiva" in an Indian temple. Let's just hope no one ever needs to meet him cause we all know what will happen when that does happen. Then everyone else went home as well!
This has been an especially fruitful week, as we did learn many new things. And oh! BYE ! :)
